Blue Chalcedony rough material

Chalcedony is a form of Quartz. You can see an explanation of what Chalcedony is on our Chalcedony page.

Some Chalcedony comes in a beautiful blue color, like the pieces shown on this page.

Blue Chalcedony has become popular in the past few years and has been used by many jewelry designers.

Here you can see where I traced an area for a freeform shaped cab which I then cut for a jewelry store.

Botryoidal blue Chalcedony rough

This is a piece of the blue Chalcedony as it comes from the ground. You can see the natury bubbly looks of the surface which is known as 'botryoidal'.

Some jewelry designers like to use this surface in its natural form.
