An Opal cabochon which I re-polished while in the Ring

Opals are somewhat soft and get scratched easily.

We can re-polish cabochons while they are in the ring. We can put a new polish on your stone.

Re-polishing a stone while it is in the ring saves the cost of un-mounting and re-setting the cabochon. It also saves the 'risk' of unsetting and resetting the stone.

Below, you will see photos and description of the polishing process.

Before re-polishing

Here you can see how dull the Opal is when it is has a lot of scratches on it.

Polishing the Opal in the Ring

Here I am working the Opal on the polishing wheel after I have carefully sanded out the scratches and pits.

After re-polishing it in the Ring

You can now see how much brigher and shinier the Opal is with a new polish on it!
