Sleeping Beauty Turquoise rough
Sleeping Beauty refers to Turquoise that is plain blue with no matrix.
Plain blue Turquoise with no matrix is also sometimes called Persian Turquoise. But the term "Persian" usually refers to 'untreated' Turquoise that is plain blue with no matrix. I do not recommend untreated material becuase it is porous and can absorb hand lotions and perspiration which discolors the material over time.
The Sleeping Beauty Turquoise material used to be available in sizes ranging from that of an egg to almost fist size. But for the past several years the largest pieces I see are about the size of a walnut.
