Onyx inlay around tapered baguette Diamond
A jewelry designer brought us this ring with the Diamond already set in the ring and held by the gold on both sides. He wanted the spaces on either side of the diamond to be inlaid with black Onyx.
To give the inlay a nice clean and finished look where it meets the diamond, we slope the edge of the inlay where it meets the diamond so that the lower edge of the slope meets the girdle of the diamond. And I polish that slope. This gives a nice finished look to the inlay and Diamond.
